The Prayer of a Victorious Christian

Father in Heaven I come to you at the beginning of this new day because I desperately need You. I am weak and helpless and hopeless without you. I am like a little child, I don't know how to go out or come in. I need wisdom and understanding as to how to deal with life in this new day. I can do nothing without You. I have nothing except as You give it to me. I desperately need You in my life. I need You to forgive me for my sins, my mistakes, my failing, and falling and to show me what I need to repent of and make right with those I have wronged. Give me victory over all of my sins as well as the temptations that Satan and my lower nature will bring me today. Without Your power in my life I am powerless to resist them.

I am so thankful that You allowed Jesus to come to this sinful wicked world to be tempted, tried and tested like no other man yet He never gave in and sinned. Then He took my sin, my shame, my judgment, my condemnation and was abused, tortured, spit on and hung on a cross where He suffered and died the second death for me removing it from my future if I accept what He did for me. And Father I accept it. I don't want what Jesus has done for me to go to waste in my life.

But even more than what Jesus did for me on the cross, He now offers to give me His perfect, sinless life, to live it in me, to empower me, to give me victory over sin and temptation. To give me wisdom and understanding as to how to live. To give me the mind of Christ so my life will glorify Your name as Christ's life did. Father I want everything that Jesus has made available to me, I don't want any of it to go to waste in my life. So Father, take me today, empower me, fill me with the Holy Spirit, give me a new heart and renew a right spirit within me. I give You permission to do whatever it takes to save me, to work Your character in my life, to control my thoughts, feelings and emotions, so my life will glorify Your name.

I thank you so much for forgiving me for my sins and failings and clothing me with Christs precious robe of righteousness, not because of anything that I can do or ever have done, but because of what Jesus has done for me, and is doing in me and through me.

In Jesus precious name I pray this, Amen.
