In Every Thing Give Thanks

Why is it that we are so unthankful? Yes, we are all very unthankful, unless you happen to be one of the very few who truly gives thanks in all things. Is it because we think that what is happening to us is unfair? Do we complain and say "why me?" Do we think that we deserve better than what we are getting?

So, what do we deserve? Are you a sinner? That should not be hard for you to answer. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23. And what is the wages of sin, what does the sinner deserve? "For the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23. Everyone deserves nothing more than death! Nothing but Death! So, if you are still living, which you must be if you are reading this, You Are Blessed! Why? Because no matter how bad you may think your life is, you have far, far more than you deserve. God is being very, very good to you in allowing you to continue to live, is spite of what you deserve. Isn't that enough to be thankful for?

Why is God allowing you to live? Why doesn't He just give you what you deserve? That is simple. God loves you. Yes, You! Even if you have never appreciated and thanked Him for what He has done for you. You may be saying, "What has He done for me?" He brought you into existence and has given you life. Why has He given you life? Because God wants to enjoy a relationship with you! Yes, You! God brought you into existence so He and you could spend eternity together enjoying everything He has created. And yet what do we do? Complain, complain, complain. Whenever things don't go the way we think they should we complain. When people treat us wrong, we complain. Have you ever asked yourself why things don't always go perfectly for you? Let me ask you a question. When do we learn? When do we become stronger, physically and mentally? When things give us stress, right? In fact, when we want to build muscles, we know that it needs to hurt if they are to grow stronger. Yet we don't want any hardship when it comes to character growth

The only way God can give us eternal life with Him in a perfect world is for Him to grow our characters so we will appreciate what He is doing for us. Satan fell because he did not appreciate what God had done for him. He was not satisfied, he wanted even more. God cannot and will not take anyone to be with Him in paradise who will not be completely satisfied with what God gives them. How does God know if we are safe to take? Well, when we learn to trust that God has our best good in mind and realize that, no matter what happens, "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28. When we learn to trust and praise God in all things, knowing that He would never allow anything to happen to us that was not for our own good, then we are safe, ready to go and be with Him.

God wants to have a relationship with everyone. The question is, do you want a relationship with Him?

If so, In Everything, Give Thanks.
